Usually, our physicans begin with simple to do medical diet and skin care regiment changes. Ocassionally, we start changing around the diet, to figure out what is causing the psoriasis to start with. If diet changes are too difficult, we offer laboratory assessments to confirm, then we treat accordingly.

Our physicians will prescribe creams to minimize and inhibit the dry and flaky skin (to decrease cell turnover) while we investigate/treat the skin. This will provide the patient some comfort as we aim to cure the skin issue.

Most people with common psoriasis require few therapies, few laboratory investigsations and some little patience as results sometimes require some time. We very much enjoy treating psoriasis at J'Adore, and we typically see remarkable long lasting results if the patient remains compliant to what we offer. (Expect to be treated for digestive issues at the same time as the skin itself).

Frequently Asked Questions

What is psoriasis?

Unpredictable and irritating, psoriasis is one of the most baffling and persistent of skin disorders. It's characterized by skin cells that multiply up to 10 times faster than normal. As underlying cells reach the skin's surface and die, their sheer volume causes raised, red plaques covered with white scales. Psoriasis typically occurs on the knees, elbows, and scalp, and it can also affect the torso, palms, and soles of the feet.

What causes psoriasis?

Psoriasis begins in the immune system, mainly with a type of white blood cell called a T cell. T cells help protect the body against infection and disease. With psoriasis, T cells are put into action by mistake. They become so active that they set off other immune responses. This leads to swelling and fast turnover of skin cells. People with psoriasis may notice that sometimes the skin gets better and sometimes it gets worse. Things that can cause the skin to get worse include infections, stress, changes in weather that dry the skin and certain medicines.
