Rosacea is a common debilitating disorder that effects millions of Canadians today. From simple little "rosey cheeks" to severe full face rosacea, we have what you need to solve your skin issues. Untreated rosacea can lead to rhinophyma (enlarged nose) and severely broken capillaries (telangiectasia) on the nose and cheeks, causing severe facial flushing and cosmetic concerns.

The physicians at J'Adore Medispa have clinical evidence and research to support many of our therapies to help you with your rosacea. We offer diet, medications, natural therapies, and laser treatments to treat rosacea. However, first we will assess your skin type, listen and list your concerns, analyze, and begin treatment. We strive to remove the cause of your rosacea. Some common rosacea causing factors include:

  • Poor diet (food allergies and sensitivities)
  • Too much alcohol intake
  • Extreme sun exposure
  • High stress
  • Vitamin deficiency
  • Poor skin genetics
  • Hormone imbalances (Testosterone, Cortisol, DHEA, Progesterone, & Estrogen)
  • Poor pH of the skin

Ocassionally, we start changing around the diet, to figure out what is causing the rosacea to start with. If diet changes are too difficult, we offer laboratory assessments to confirm, then we treat accordingly.

What makes J'Adore Medispa and Rejuvenation Centre unique in treating Rosacea is how we treat the digestive system as well as the skin itself. This is very clinically effective way of treating rosacea, backed by multitude of research. Even Dr. Oz has talked about treating the digestive system as a means of treating Rosacea!

Frequently Asked Questions

What is rosacea?

Rosacea is a chronic and potentially life-disruptive disorder primarily of the facial skin, often characterized by flare-ups and remissions. Many have observed that it typically begins any time after age 30 as a redness on the cheeks, nose, chin or forehead that may come and go. In some cases, rosacea may also occur on the neck, chest, scalp or ears. Over time, the redness tends to become ruddier and more persistent, and visible blood vessels may appear.

What happens if rosacea is not treated?

Left untreated, bumps and pimples often develop, and in severe cases the nose may grow swollen and bumpy from excess tissue. This is the condition, called rhinophyma that gave the late comedian W.C. Fields his trademark bulbous nose. In many rosacea patients, the eyes are also affected, feeling irritated and appearing watery or bloodshot.
